UNTIL THE 18TH ANNUAL AUCTION AT HEINZ FIELD

18th ANNUAL AUCTION DINNER
FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2009 AT HEINZ FIELD

Bishop Canevin High School's 18th Annual Auction Dinner will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 as we return to the West Club Lounge at Heinz Field. This year's theme will center on our 50th Anniversary - making this the biggest Birthday Party in school history! We hope you enjoy our newly re-designed website, encourage you to bookmark this website and to visit often as we come closer to the event.

The following is a recap of last year's auction, which will be published in our 2007-2008 Annual Report:

Due to the overwhelming success and growth of our auction in recent years, we were proud to present the 17th Annual Auction Dinner "Celebrate Pittsburgh" on Friday, April 18, 2008 in the stunning West Club Lounge at Heinz Field.

Co-chaired by Mrs. Susan (Kelly) Cullen '73 and Mrs. Marybeth McGinley, this year’s auction was our most successful fundraising event in school history. The event broke Bishop Canevin's auction attendance record and nearly tripled sponsorship revenue compared to prior years.

The evening featured tours of Heinz Field, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner stations, live and silent auctions, raffles and the entertainment of DJ Dan Koch of 5th Ace Entertainment (www.5thace.com). For many, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of Bishop Canevin High School’s Distinguished Awards, which were presented by Principal Mr. Kenneth Sinagra and emcee Mr. Bob Pompeani of KDKA.

This year's Distinguished Alumni were Mr. Jay Shock '65 of Bayer MaterialScience (introduced by Mr. Kenneth Sinagra) and Mrs. Cathy (Tracy) Huth '65 (introduced by daughter Leslie (Huth) Williams '93).

The Distinguished Educator award was presented to long-time Bishop Canevin Vice-Principal and Crusette Moderator, Sr. Judith Worden, R.S.M. Prior to receiving the award, former Crusettes Erin Superior '99 and Chelsea Pompeani '06 read a special poem, "A Crusettes Ode to Sister Judy", written for Sr. Judy by Dave Crawley of KDKA. Her long-time friend and former Bishop Canevin Musical Director Mr. Terry Lindsay introduced Sr. Judy. Mr. Lindsay was a surprise guest and drove 10-hours from Connecticut just to attend.

In 2009, Bishop Canevin High School's Auction will return to Heinz Field on Friday, March 27, 2009. Please plan to attend this special event!
